Perhaps actress Thara is the first person to sworn in as MLC in the name of icon of Kannada cinema Dr Rajakumar. None of the other cinema actors took oath in Dr Rajakumar name.

Thara Anooradha, national award winning actress, currently President of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, wife of well known cinematographer HC Venu was sworn in as Member of Legislative Assembly on Friday afternoon at 3 pm in Vidhana Soudha
 
Thara was accompanied to this memorable moment by Dr Jayamala, Ramya, Sudharani and a few others from cinema industry.  Ministers Renukacharya and Shankara Murthy of BJP government greeted Thara the new incumbent to legislative council for a period of six years.
